Madrid is the capital city of Spain and more important a city that once visited it will just become a part of you. The first thing that stroke me there was the warmth of the people. It looks like is not a myth the fact that people from southern, Mediterranean regions really are more affectionate than the ones in northern regions.
I am from Norway and I can sense the difference pretty well. My first time there was in august 2006. I rented a Madrid apartment in the center of the city after one day of Madrid accommodation searching on the web and live also. There are a lot of apartments rent Madrid in there but it seems that all the tourists decided to visit this city in the same period with me! For a second I gave up and thought to myself that all Madrid apartments were rented! I was desperately searching for apartments for rent in Madrid when one very nice girl I met at the subway helped me with this issue.
As she was a local she knew all the best accommodation Madrid and she found this apartment for me!
When finally settled down, I could start to enjoy my trip. Everything was just amazing! The buildings, the food, the music, the people, the beating heart of this fascinating city just made me change my way of perceiving life! I can go so far to saying that until now I was partially not alive. It was the first time in my life when I danced flamenco with a professional flamenco dancer in a bar designed as a cage and I just loved it! Regardint the food the only thing I am just going to tell you is that I have gained 4 kilos in one week. :
Tapas, the seafood paella, the jamon Serrano in combination with a good glass of sangria, the sparkling wine served with a rich of fruits can make you feel just like in heaven.
